About Samantha Tang

With close to 2 decades of experience in the field, Consultant Psychologist Samantha Tang has amassed experience in both the private and public sector. Over the years, Samantha has worked with children with a wide range of developmental challenges, from Global Developmental Delay (GDD) to Dyscalculia. She is highly experienced in the assessment and diagnosis of developmental issues, and preparing reports for placement in special education school or examination exemptions or accommodations. Samantha is also able to provide Individual Education Plans (IEP) for her clients on areas such as school readiness for Pre-P1 children.

Being a highly passionate and dedicated Psychologist, Samantha is always willing to go the extra mile to serve her clients and their caregivers. Here palpable care and concern for the clients she works with helps her to forge close relationships with her clients and their caregivers.

It is Samantha’s passion to serve that pushed her to develop a keen interest in providing customised parent/caregiver training to the parents/caregivers of her clients. Principal Occupational Therapist Sara Yeow is a highly dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist with approximately 10 years of experience working in the private Paediatric therapy setting. Apart from the private sector, her clinical experience also extends to various settings ranging from acute hospitals to the community and school settings. As a mother of 2 children, Paediatrics holds a special place in Sara’s heart as she sincerely believes in the power of early intervention in changing the developmental trajectory and life of a child. This is what made Sara decide on Paediatrics work as her area of specialisation almost a decade back. Through the years of interacting with clients and families, Eunice has gained invaluable soft skills that have honed her ability as an Occupational Therapist. Having more than a decade’s worth of experience in the field of speech and language development, Grace is known to be a passionate and dedicated Principal Speech Therapist who places her clients’ interests at the heart of everything she does. A testimony to this would be her receipt of the Courage Star Award by Tan Tock Seng Hospital in recognition of her relentless dedication to her patients during the SARS period.

Grace has work exposure both locally and overseas and in the public and private sector.  Over the course of her work, she has collaborated closely with teachers, caregivers, social workers and Occupational Therapists to deliver holistic therapy services to children and also training workshops in primary schools. These experiences have has given her great exposure to children with a diverse range of speech challenges.

In the field of academia, Grace also had the opportunity of supervising a Master of Science (Speech and Language Pathology) student from a local University as an external clinical educator.

Grace’s wealth of experience accrued over the years allows her to deftly adapt her therapy approach to the unique learning style of each child and effectively facilitate speech and language stimulation for the child. Always looking to be updated and kept abreast of developments in her field, Preeti is constantly taking courses and getting certifications for different programmes. She is a certified facilitator of a wide range of programmes, including Signpost and It Takes Two to Talk, The Hanen Program for parents. About Jess

Senior Speech Therapist Jess Chen is a deeply passionate and goal oriented senior speech therapist who is focused on clients’ well-being. She has been working in the public sector for more than 10 years with children with various developmental needs. She works closely with doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, special education teachers, as well as conduct Hanen courses for parents.

Jess delights in working with younger children as she strongly believes and experiences first-hand the effectiveness of early intervention. With her background in Education, Linguistics and English Studies to support her speech-language therapy training, she takes a special interest in the speech, language and communication skills of children under her care.

Having worked in one-to-one clinic settings, special needs schools as well as EIPIC centres in Singapore, Cher had good exposure as a centre-based and school-based therapist. This gave her the opportunity to work closely with teachers and caregivers to provide the child with a holistic intervention approach. Her work experience covers individual, dyad and small-group intervention.

She strongly believes in providing children with learning opportunities within fun, stress-free environments and utilises strategies from other professionals she has worked with in multi and transdisciplinary therapy settings. To further ensure learning is a positive experience, she uses tasks which are customised to each child’s interests and strengths, providing as much support as is required until the child can independently use the skill being targeted.

Dr Haslina Hassan, Senior Educational Therapist/ Counsellor

About Dr Haslina

Dr. Haslina Hassan has been working with children in the mainstream and special needs field for more than 20 years. She started as a primary school teacher in one of a top girls’ school. Her passion for working with children with special needs is evident and her work experiences include being a specialist teacher with the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) where she was promoted to Head of Centre and then to a Coordinator for Counselling & Awareness. She was also Head of the Early Intervention Programme of a private special school which she helped to set up. Dr. Haslina then accepted a position offered by the Ministry of Education (MOE) as a Senior School Counsellor.

After leaving her post with MOE, Dr. Haslina Hassan takes her role as an Educational Therapist and a Shadow Teacher, providing intervention for children with special needs and supporting children with special needs in mainstream schools. Dr. Haslina Hassan works with the teachers, parents and the schools to help provide the best support and learning environment for these children. To ensure that she continues to share her knowledge and experiences with the younger educators, Dr. Haslina Hassan remains as an adjunct lecturer, lecturing in modules concerning special education.
